Biography of Srinivasa Ramanujan ( short informative essay for class 10 and 12)

Srinivasa Ramanujan 

Srinivasa Ramanujan, one of the most famous Mathematicians of the world, was born at Erode in Tamil Nadu in 1887. His father was a mere clerk in a merchant's shop and his mother's job was to prepare astrological charts and make prediction. Srinivasa inherited his aptitude for mathematical calculations from his mother. He had great interest in Mathematics ever since his early life and was tremendously influenced by G. S. Car's famous book entitled ' A Synopsis of Elementary Results'. He began his service career with the job of a clerk in the Madras port Trust. Srinivasa secured this job with the help of his generous friends. There his talents and potentialities were first noticed by Sir Francis Spring, the Chief of the Trust. He was then introduced to G. H. Hardy, a fellow of the Trinity College. In England, Ramanujan became very famous for joint work in Mathematics. He was then elected a fellow of the Royal Society in 1918 and later of the Trinity College. But this great Mathematician died an untimely and premature death in 1930 at the age of only thirty-three.
