Doklam Issue( ESSAY for CGL,CHSL, MTS etc exams)

DOKLAM ISSUE

Since the year India got its independence till now the relation between India and China is so pathetic. In the year 1950, the US government offered India the United Nations Security Council permanent seat but our first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru turned it down on the advice of USSR lest China got offended. Now china is the main reason why India is not getting it. China’s aggression has not stopped. 1962 indo-china war, forcefully capturing Aksai china, aggression in Tibet, Arunachal land problem, igniting the problem in Kashmir are some of the examples China made in these years. The latest addition to the list is the Doklam Issue.

Doklam is area situated between India, Bhutan and Tibet. It is near to Sikkim. And originally it is a small part of Bhutan. In the year 2017, China started constructing a road through Doklam which was opposed by Bhutan. So China started increasing its Military power near the place establishing Helipads, trenches and more than 1800 Chinese troops were stationed there. Then Bhutan asked India’s help and together Bhutan and India opposed China. India also strengthened its presence in that region. Tactically India is more powerful in that region. Therefore China moved back.

But why suddenly china started increasing its presence there? The main reason may be Siliguri Corridor. Doklam is near to the place Siliguri corridor which is called the chicken’s neck of India. It is the corridor point which connects the north eastern part of India to its mainland. So, having a greater presence of China in that place will surely increase risk in the Indian defense.

Though China stepped down a little, the problem yet not solved. China and India are the two super powers of Asia and they should resolve the issue between them for the sake of both the nations.

SHANGHAI COOPERATION SUMMIT (SCO) 2018 (short note)

SCO summit The 18 th Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit was held Jun 9-10 in Qingdao, China . India’s participation in the summit has revived the debate over the usefulness of this membership for the country’s foreign policy, economic development, security goals and Sino-Indian relation. The question has been debated since 2009, when India and Pakistan attended the Yekaterinburg summit as observers, and India showed interest in joining the SCO.   It was in June last year at the SCO summit in Astana, Kazakhstan, that India and Pakistan became full members of the china led grouping. Participating in the SCO as full members provides an opportunity for improving relations. The SCO charter is aimed at promoting peace and regional co-operation and all member states must abide by the Charter’s clauses. It is expected to bring about a positive change in the countries’ attitudes towards each other. This year’s summit was the first for India and Pakistan as full members

Eassy on India and China relationship (SSC CGL and CHSL )

India and China India and china relationship have a history of chronic strife that India would like to forget but which China would not let us forget. Way back in 1950, after the Communist Revolution, the US offered China's UN Security seat to India. Pt. Nehru, India's first prime minister turned down the offer on the advice of USSR lest China should be offended. Within a year, the process of annexation of Tibet by China began. What is more, today China is stoutly opposing India's inclusion in the UN Security council. Our first Prime Minister, Nehru, visited China on October 1954 and he was overwhelmed with the amazing reception he got on his first visit. The doctrine of panchsheel ( Five Principle of coexistence) was established. Yet the ties between the two became strained with boarder skirmishes and discovery of Chinese road in Aksai Chin.  In 1959, Dalai Lama, fled to Tibet and was granted political asylum b
